Abu Bakr had an especially loving and trusting relationship with Ali ibn Abi Talib, who, one should not be surprised to learn, named one of his sons, Abu Bakr.

After Abu Bakr died, Ali bin Abu Talib took his son, Muhammad bin Abu Bakr, into his household, raising him and taking good care of him. Upon becoming caliph himself, Ali selected Muhammad bin Abu Bakr to be one of his governors.

May Allah be pleased with them all.
